Helping words to get through life

"To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did" When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better.

God is so Good...

This week this has been shown to me more than ever. As you all know Keyton is Highly allergic to Wheat/Gluten of any kind. Well on Tus. night after eating at chick-fil-a for family super hero night he had the worst reaction he has had ever. I don't know how he got the wheat the only thing I can think of is cross contamination or he ate my fries that I put in my sandwich bag. Well we got home from there and the big kids where coloring when I started noticing things. Looking back I should has noticed how fussy he was but he had also hit his head really hard at the store before we ate. Any ways I saw a few spots on his hand and made him take his costume off and he was becoming covered with little red spots. Oh no is all I could think I started hounding him on what he had at school, home and if he ate anything at chick-fil-a off the floor. The answer was no every time. He also has been on Zyrtec for sinuous infection that week and had already taken it before so I did not think I could give him Benadryl too(found out later I could have). I watched him for a while and he started swelling around the neck, lips, and ears. I took him in right away. We waited for ever to be seen of course and then the Doctor did not even look at his spots. I was made as could be because on one his foot looked like a huge knot almost as if he broke his foot. Also his hand had one on it that looked like the foot. He treated me like a dumb mom who does not know what I am talking about. Needless to say I have not been impressed and really have no respect for the Texas Tech training doctors. He ordered Benadryl for him and then I showed the nurse how bad he was and she told me to stay for about 30 to 45 mins. to see if he gets better or if the hives spread or the swelling gets worst. We did and the hives started spreading to his back and neck which they where not there before the benadryl. Also the swelling to his foot and hand got a little worst. They called the doctor and he ordered Keyton Steroids to help jump start the healing. His breathing was fine and his heart rate too which is great that it did not close him off but he did say his throat was hurting to breath and swollow so some irritation was happening. The swelling stopped so we went home but not before the Nurse told me to push his doctor to give him an epi-pen for this so that it does not get like this again. He had to be on steroids, benadryl and Zyrtec. We put him to bed in our room so that if the swelling started to move inside his mouth we would hear him. He woke up and looked good on wed. the swelling was all but gone and the hive looked good...for a while and still had a scratchy voice from the irritation. Next morning he woke up and looked horable his whole head was so red from hives and his tummy and back. Hive do get worst when the body starts to digest the food again and with heat so since the swelling was not bad they told me to start oatmeal baths and Benadryl cream to help stop the itching. He looks good today and feels so much better thank goodness. Hoping that it is all out of his system and that this never happens again. The only thing that really gets me is that I am so good at keeping him away from it and this happened. Of coarse I feel like I let him down in some way and I know there is nothing I could do its just part of being a Mommy to feel this way. Also God was watching him that night because....We got home so late that normally I would just tell the kids to get into Jammies and get to bed. I would have said their prayers and then left them alone for a while to fall asleep. Thankfully the Zyrtec he was on did slow the reaction down some and he had that right when we got home. I just cant help but think if it was a regular night I could have lost him in his sleep before I knew what was going on. God also tugged on my heart to not leave the hospital after the benadryl so that we could see that it was still spreading and he helped the meds work. We where lucky this time...very lucky. Thank you Lord for watching over him and putting all that into place so that he would be fine. Now we are working on getting an epi-pen for us and one for school. I also talked to his teachers because he did not feel up to going to school on Thurs. but we did have to drop big sis off. I showed them his poor body also. They let me know how good he is at knowing what he can and can't have or to ask. They said on the playground he will get in line for the little snacks they give out and if it is something he cant have he backs up and says "no I cant have that I am allergic to wheat and gluten" Even with candy he knows to ask first. I was impressed and proud of him about that. It makes my fears of school a little better. I am also grateful that both his teacher have kids who have special diets and one does gluten free everything so she is already looking for it. It has been a stressful week with Him but things turned out wonderful.

Here are some pic of him and they are backwards...starts with thursday and then tus...

His poor head...it looked like that all over his poor head. and tummy too...
Tus. after all 3 meds and home from the hospital
This is his poor little foot

The swelling to his neck and face he looked so sad.All the other pics are on face book but this is all I could load on here for some reason. It is in the album called "the last few days"
Thank God he is so Good.

Changes...

Today was the start of a new chapter in a little boys life. Keyton started his first day at Mothers-day-out today. He was so excited getting ready along with Paisley for their frist day. He did so good and wanted to wear his new tye shirt to school which turned out helped break the ice as everyone loved it and would ask him about it. He played well and talked to everyone. On the playground he did get to see his big sis but they told me he did not even play with her and stayed with his new friends! Wow i was so happy he was able to do that and find his own way with out her today. He had a great first day and I am so happy for him. Paisley did well today too, she had the same teacher but new room and was so excited to see her bff Salon! They where both well praised at the end of the day. Mommy on the other hand made it out the door before I started the water works thankfully and kept them up til I got home. Then me and Brezlyn enjoyed time together at home with the strangest thing QUIET. My house has not been like that since Paisley was a baby! Wow I forgot how it was to have that LOL. Cant wait til the middle of september when Keyton gets to go on his first field tirp ever!!! Paisley loved the bus we will see what he loves!

Living Crazy!

Well it has been a long time since I have sat down and blogged. So much has happened in our lives and the kids have done so much! I guess it is a good thing in away that we have been so busy with life that I could not sit down to write about it. Here we go...
The three major events this summer...
We went to the wiggles July 8th in Dallas...It was a blast!!!! All three of the kids where so excited to go and see them. We got there and Brezlyn just was in shock it was too cute. She danced and waved and clapped the whole time. First one of our three to do this and it made it so much fun. She waved her roses so hard for Dorothy the dinosaur and screamed Ruff to wags! Laughed at all the silly things they did it was so precious. Paisley got in on it too just to be a little proud mommy and play with her. She is so much like me it is not even funny. Keyton loved the show but he did bit through his lip good right at the beginning of the show. Did not spoil it for him and he did get to hand his bone for wags right to Murry the red wiggle! That made up for the lip thing. He watched the show through the pain and even smiled with a big old fat lip too! At the end we got the girls a wiggle character head band and Keyton a bucket hat that he wears alot! We had a great time and such great memories every time we go. They are already counting down the days til next years show LOL, guess we know what we will be doing for vacation again. So worth every Pennie it takes to see the joy, excitement, star struck faces, and Love from all 3 of them.
July 25-27 was VBS! This was the first time for both my big kids and boy did they love it! They where excited every morning and almost sad when I came to get them. They crafted, sang, and learned about the lord. It warms my heart how much they both love Jesus and church. They still sing the songs they learned almost everyday and they tough them to Brezlyn who now loves to sock-it to the devil! Love their little hearts
We then had a wedding where 3 out of the 5 of us where in. It was Tryon's sister's wedding on Aug. 6 in Abilene. The big kids where the flower girl and ring bearer and Tryon was an usher. They all looked so cute in there wedding clothes and did so well at walking down the aisle! I was one proud mommy. The Wedding was beautiful and was just a perfect picture of them. The bride was glowing and the groom handsome. Such true love and beauty! It was a wonderful time and seeing family made it that much better. The kids got to play with their cousins and see all their aunts and uncles from that side. Was fast and short but so wonderful.
New with the family...
Paisley: She is growing up so much every day and it is just a joy to watch! She retains so much that it always knocks me off my feet when she tells me things. She is learning to sound out small words and spell them which is wonderful. She can count up to 40 with no help and if I tell her the tens she can go on forever! She loves to dress up all day everyday and is never in her normal clothes if we are at home. Her imagination is just wonderful! Now she is a little mommy and tries to "help" me out with things around the house! She loves to change diapers and pick out her own clothes. Also she has started loving to sit with us which is a true blessing because as a baby this was something she would never do. She is also becoming quite the artist and will sit and draw, color, craft all day if I would let her but baby sis makes that hard. She is so excited that school is starting back up on Thursday to learn more things and I am sure to show off just a little. She is a sweet heart that is funny all the time. Singing and playing all she can. Such a joy in my life.
Keyton: His bad run has some what slowed down to almost stopped. After the wiggles he did break his little toe. It was off to the side and he had to wear crocks for about 3 weeks or so. No more broken bones since. His count is 4 just this year and we are hoping for no more. He has had the normal bumps but nothing that has sent us to the ER again. He is also growing up so fast. He learns alot from just watching Paisley and he loves to paint. He will paint every piece of paper in the house. He loves to play outside so this hot hot summer has not been is fav. He is also learning to spell small words and working on his sounds for every letter. He can count to 20 by himself and with paisley up to 30. He loves to do his training book and is learning to write letters. He is into Pirates right now! He runs around all day being Jack Sparrow hiding his sward from Barbosa in daddy's boot LOL. Yes that is right Daddy let the big kids watch the 1st one while mommy was gone one night. Then they watched all 3. He loves them so so so much! Daddy just took him to see the last one at the dollar movie and he was so excited and was so happy. This is who he wants to be for halloween now. He is also fully potty trained but at night!!! Finally and it is so nice to have him this way...thank goodness for the potty watch. He is really becoming such a sweet little guy who is going to start School this year for the first time! He is over the moon to start the year. I will miss him during the day but it will be good for him.
Brezlyn: She has changed this summer so much. She has gone from a quiet little baby to a loud, funny, energetic little girl. She loves to make people laugh and will do what ever it takes to make you smile. She is finally done teething just this month, the longest one out of the three. She loves to dance and does every chance she gets. She is talking in sentences and saying really big words now. She loves to learn new words too and always ask. Now her fav. word is still baby and yells it out everytime she sees one. I love her spirit!! She is also trying so hard to be as big as her big sis and bro. She is always following one of them around all day. She is also in the copying stage and it is so funny. Loves to change peoples names too...like with my dad he is Poppy but she is now calling him Papa and wil not go back to it...and keyton is only Kiki and paisley is only Babies LOL don't ask me why she can say all the right ones she just does not want to. Her new thing is the pirate thing too and she says Yo ho all the time and Jack Sparrow! LOL she says Pirate, tail and sings along with the pirate music we have. It is so cute and she is just as smart as the other two. She is a real blessing to our family and is the one who can always make us laugh. She is also starting Potty training! The first day we did it she went 3 times in the potty and stayed dry for a long time...I was one proud mommy...but I learned with Keyton not to push to hard and just go with the flow for a while. We are going to get her a potty watch to help out some it work wonders with Keyton. It will be nice if she would soon to have a break from diapers LOL.
Us: I have started making the kids clothes and really enjoy it. They also love it and it helps me to want to try new things. I still do all the normal stuff like bows and painting but have loved this also. It is so fun to make them things I could not buy for them! Tryon was trying to get on at the Police station here but it did not work out but we are hoping for things to get better where he is so that we can take down our dept so that he has a better chance later. He is doing well just working crazy hours still and we miss having him home more. We do love Daddy's day off and enjoy it while we can...good things to come but more about that later. We are also trying to have another baby and hoping it will happen soon. That one will more than likely be it for us and is sad to say that part of our lives is almost to an end. We are also still working hard on remolding this house. We have the living room done, cabinets (thanks to my dad) redone and panelling in the hall is gone. Now just need to get the wall re-textured in the hall, kitchen and both baths so that all we will have is trim, baseboards to paint and walls to do!!! so excited to be this close. Then one day will put shutters up and change the carpet but for now we are close to being done. Life is good and we are excited to see where it goes from here.
It has been a good summer and we are starting to get ready for the fall and winter...Lot to do there with Halloween, Christmas and two birthdays parties to through! Cant wait for it to start.

Stress

Ok so I really don't think anyone reads this any more but life has been good to us these last few months. With that has come some stress too...

First off Tryon is working really hard to get into the police department here and thankfully so far he has passed the two test he has taken. We still have a ways to go before we know anything. This being said it has caused him stress because he really wants this and has finally found what he wants to do with his life. Each test has come with stress and then the stress of passing everything but still not getting in..we are hoping this does not happen to him but it is all in Gods hands. Prayers are still needed for this to go the way God intends it to go.

Then there is the summer stress of the kids not wanting to be together all the time. This is mainly just my stress but has hit Tryon just a little bit too. The big kids are use to two days away from each other a week and the being pushed together all the time...the same class at church and any where we go it seems 3s and 4s are always together. They cant get a break. I guess this is one big down fall of having them 16 1/2 months apart. Oh well it is life too

Then there is the stress we have never had before. We have been trying to have a baby...wait did I just say trying! Yes this is something we have never done before it has always been OH my I am pregnant again. LOL I really wanted to have a baby close to Brezlyn just like Keyton and Paisley so we have been trying since Dec. with no luck yet...This will be our last baby and it is taking its time to get here too. I know God knows when the right time is and I don't want to go through the samething as we had to before we where blessed with Brezlyn. I am just tired of my period making its way to me every month..LOL sorry if that was to much. This stress has been on both me and Tryon, more on me I know. Funny thought Paisley is feeling it too she is so ready for me to have another baby that she is praying for it too. She does not want me to stop having babies. LOL she is funny and just like me in that way. The thought of only one more is so sad to me but I know it is the time in our lives to stop having them after this and just live as one big happy family...Now if something was to happen and we ended up with more I would be fine with that too...But back on topic....We are all ready for another little bundle of joy to make its way into our lives and be with our family. I keep hoping every month and praying this is the month. I will so thrilled to see that stick say yes more that ever before!!!

Keep our little family in mind as you pray with all the changes and hopes we have going right now.

Everyone is doing good....growing and loving life.

Sleep overs!

These are some of my best memories from childhood. As soon as my mom let me that is all I wanted almost every weekend! The more girls I could have over the happier I was. LOL I had a few friends I had over a lot and they are still some of the closest friends ever. I remember ever Birthday from like 5 on was a big sleep over with 6 or more girls over. We would stay up as late as we could playing games, watching movies, eating fun food, and doing nails...Oh and we picked on the little bro to.

Tonight I entered this world again but as the Mommy and I hope the fun Mommy too. Paisley has been begging for her little friend Bailey to stay the night. I gave in finally and asked her mom and Tonight was the Night!!! I don't know if either of us Mommies where ready but our girl sure are lol. The really funny and neat thing is that us mommies, where the best of friends growing up almost like sisters! We spent about 1/2 our lives at the others house or on vacation with each other! Our girls both look just like we did at their age and act just the same! It was like watch a video of us playing and staying at the others house. So cool and such a great thing. The girls are fastly becoming really close friends and enjoyed tonight so much!

We started off the night with "Cowboy" dinner which Paisley asked if I would make for them. I called it this one time because it was beans and hot dogs and Paisley was going through a no bean stage and this is how I got her to eat LOL. Then we waited for Little Bee to go to bed to go swimming in the little pool out front! How funny this was...they splashed, played in the mud and just laughed so much. Then we had to take a quick bath to clean up the mud and other fun outdoor things off them. They played for a min. washed up with no fuss! The girls both let me brush their hair just fine. After that we did nails...put the fun stickers on them and glitter!!! Yes Keyton picked the glitter too...So you cant really tell but yes he had to join in the fun! Then we started Gnomeo and Juliet while I made Monster yogurt to go with...that is just vanilla yogurt with strawberries and kiwi in these cute Monster bowels I found today for just $1...They taught this was supper cool and asked to have in for breakfast too! They went to bed just fine and we will wake up play, eat lunch and then with Bailey's mom and baby sis head up to the discovery center for just a little more fun before call the sleep over done!!!

I am sad that my little girl is growing up but I loved this as a girl and as soon as I knew Paisley was a girl I could not wait to do this with my little ones!!! Such a great time in life and so fun to pass on....one thing I have going for me my parents did not is that Tryon and I are both night owls so the late nights should not bother us as much LOL. I will be posting pics and a video of the night on facebook! SO fun and cute..

Such a big mile stone in their little lives...they are already asking to do this again some time and with more than just Bailey...yes she is just like me...Here we go.

Round two

Keyton had his apt. with the orthopedic surgyon today and they put him in a full hard cast for 3 weeks. Yes he had a fat pad on the elbow in the x-rays which is a sign of a fracture. So yes he fractured yet another bone in his little body! I was suprised but happy we are fixing the problem and that we are on the road to recovery. He will have more x-rays done on the 28th to see if he needs another cast or if he will be fine with out it. Hoping for the best... And yes that means that he will have it on for Easter and Easter pics....LOL !! The memories that will make. He picked light blue to match the shirt he was wearing at the doc. and wants me to draw a snake around his wrist! He can wait for people to sign it and to show it off. Now bath time will be hard and he will be mad about not getting to play in the bath for the next few weeks. All in all he is ok just still hurting and now not able to do much at all. They said the pain will get better now that he is in the hard cast and that will be so nice maybe he will sleep better now. The nurse was so impressed at how good he was getting it put on and how intently he was watching the proses was really cute. I have one tough little guy!

Here We go again....

Well this year has not been our year with injuries and it is only 4 months into it. At this rate we will not make it to 2012 lol. and we can seem to shake them...here is what the last few months have been like in the Condra house hold....

  1. Dec. 22, 2010 was the first major injury. Yes I know last year but this is where it started... Keyton went mouth first into my parents end table which ended with an x-ray to the mouth, two good cuts to the gums and every ligament in the upper teeth shaken and hurt. Took and good 6 weeks to heal up and stop hurting

  2. Feb. 14, 2011..again Keyton went face first into the brick of my parents fireplace which ended with an x-ray, fractured cheek bone, dislocated nose, and black swollen eye! Took about 3 weeks for the bruising to heal and another 3 for the bone to stop hurting! That was a hard time with pain and having a happy boy. He did good though despite it all.

  3. Feb. 22, 2011...Paisley was at school and fell off the swings face first. Picked her up covered in blood and one scratched up face. She bit the bottom lip almost through it, cut the top gums and had a dislocated nose. Her teacher did call the next am to see how she was doing which I thought was so sweet. She was fine in about 3 weeks from it all

  4. March 23, 2011...Daddy was playing soccer and fell beating up his leg pretty good. He was fine just sore for a good 2 weeks or so.

  5. March 8, 2011...Brezlyn was not walking right all day so we took off her shoe to see her next to the last toe was standing strait up!! OMG that one looked bad. Took her in thankfully no x-ray needed it was just dislocated and she was fine the next am!

  6. March 16, 2011...the kid thought it would be funny to pull Brezlyn around in a laundry basket all was well til Mommy was cooking and they tried to put her in a basket on my bed. She fell off and hit her head on the dresser. She was fine other than a good bump and needed so good TLC

  7. March 27, 2011 Yes Keyton's b-day did not end well for him he fell into a nail that was sticking out of a wall and cut his head up pretty good. He was fine made sure he did not need a shot and Nonnie came over to check on him and all was good.

  8. March 28, 2011 The big one!!! The kids where playing bored games with Daddy on the floor and Keyton was acting silly rolling around with the dice. Next thing we know he is screaming his head off and holding his arm. Thinking it was his arm out of place yet again I try to pop it back in NO LUCK there. He started Yelling FIX IT MOMMY FIX IT. Well he was not acting the same with it as normal and it was not fixing so off to the ER. 7 x-rays and 3 tries by the doc to pop it back in we were sent home with a sling at 3 am and told if he still could not use it the next day bring him back...Well after waking up ever 30 mins that am and him screaming most the day... we went back and 3 x-rays later they put him in a temp. Cast, Which took two nurses and me holding him down to do. I think this was the worst mommy moment so far as he screams I HATE U MOMMY U ARE MEAN, STOP STOP U ARE HURTING ME !!! Over and over and the whole way home. Was told they could not see anything on the x-rays but think he fractured his cartilage in the elbow and wrist. If not better in 5 days take him to an orthopedic surgeon.
Well we are almost to the 5 day mark and he is not better. He screams when we take the cast off and at the end of the day he is just miserable! Even with Strong pain meds he is still hurting and today we had to take a bath with out the cast because big sis put dirt down the cast. Thanks Paisley! He was not happy and it really hurt him to sit there with out it. At Nonnies tonight he fell on it and was so upset it broke my heart. Praying we find out something soon so that he can sleep better and be back to normal soon. I will calling everyone in Amarillo to see if they will take a 3 yr and see what is going on. He is not happy about this at all and now has a stronger dislike for Doctors. I dont blame him and I am ready to not get the bad ended of his hurt. I want to fix it I just cant and he does not understand that one bit. I will keep everyone updated on this as we find out what comes next or what is going on. Pray for this little arm....Who knew bored games could be dangerous LOL Only my kid could pull that off. Then to ending things up!.....

  • Two days ago I fell on my back in the hall and i am bruised up too...anyone who knows my history knows this was not a good thing as in if I fall the wrong way I will never walk again...I am sore but will be fine in a few days or so. Thank God for that one. My sweet 4 yr made me a pallet on the floor, took my shoes off for me, and then layed by me til daddy got home. Melted my heart!

  • Not to mention the everyday bumps, scrapes and bruises in there that happen in this house almost every day LOL

Our poor house need some healing and some thing to give! We are now Praying that nothing else like this comes our way so that we can have fun and healthy kids! WoW when it rains it really pours LOL I only laugh because there is nothing else I can do I feel so bad for them and wish so hard that I could take their pain from them! I have never felt so helpless and it is true being a mommy is not for the weak at heart! God give me strength oh and sleep! Since the big arm thing i have not slept the best because he has not. I ask for prayers for him and our family to be safer! Thank u all

Some good things have happened too...Brezlyn started walking a week after her birthday!!! She is so fast and now is into everything. She thinks she is one of the big kids and it is too funny!!! Now she walked to Paisley and Not mommy :( but it was wonderful to see the love in those two girls. She has also learned so much she sings with the kids in the back of the car, does everything they do when they dance. She tries so hard. She is finally into being read to and Loves Brown Bear Brown Bear and From Head to toe! She will sit all the time now for books which I love. She will bring u a book and say "read please" and back up into ur lap! LOVE IT. She is all about Babies and walks around most the day saying Babe Babe. She is sweet and loves to laugh all day long. I thank God for her sweet and ornery nature everyday!

Keyton is really getting so smart everyday and so independent which is a mile stone for him. He is all boy and going 90 to nothing til time for bed. He is really sweet and always telling everyone that he loves them. Just the other day I told Paisley to tell me Thank You she did and then Keyton said..."Now Mommy say your welcome" LOL he is learning fast! He loves to sing and has a really good voice already! I love to hear him. His Birthday was wonderful and full of snakes down to the cake! He had a great time. He has made a few friends here that are boys and around his age and it is wonderful to see. He makes me laugh and I wish I had his energy. He is a little ball of fire and sweetness. I love him so much!

Paisley is learning so much from school and getting to go on really neat field trips like to a new station and to see the helicopter at the hospital! She has a really good friend who she loves so much. She has even done some play dates with her with out mommy. I was scared but she has loved it so much. She is so excited to learn and so good at it to. She is a really good artist and I love to see her art. She could sit all day and color and draw and would be very happy. She is a lot of help around the house and I could not make it with out her some days. She always makes me smile and knows just when I need a laugh. She has really come around to cuddling and we have a date night to watch a show we both enjoy. She is growing up so fast but I am loving watching her grow and can see that she is going to be such a wonderful little lady some day!
