Well it finally
happened....
Keyton has broken a bone!! 3 nights ago we where over at my Mom and Dad's for dinner. The kids where all playing in the living room
running and being silly. I was in the kitchen with Mom talking and helping with
Keyton's noodles for dinner. Then all of the sudden
Keyton is screaming! He comes walking into the kitchen holding his head first thing i check is for blood...good there was none. Then I ask Paisley what
happened, she tells me that he fell into the fireplace and hit his head on the brick.
Ok so then I start looking for bumps....found it on his cheek there was a good little bump there. Did not look to bad you could see where he hit the corner of the brick and it went from the side of his nose to the end of the cheek. We iced it and watched him the rest of the night. Got in the car to leave and took so pics of this not swollen red spot that was starting to blue up. I was starting to worry but
Tryon and I
decided to wait til the morning before rushing off just to see how he was. Well in the morning he looked bad his eye was half swollen shut and the
bruising was looking bad. He also did not sleep the best that night and now his breathing was not the best. So after I dropped Paisley off at school I called a friend who is a nurse for so advice just to see what she thought. She said she would take him in just to see and to make sure his breathing was
ok. So off we go and of course they push all over it and
Keyton is mad and screaming they check everything even his neck form the
impact and all. Breathing was good, neck great, eyes slow but fine, swelling bad, nose bad, check bad....X-rays come back and he has a hair line fracture in his cheek. Not the best then they tell me he has a concussion also.
Ok really not good but there was nothing they could do for him but watch him for infection or major head
trauma. Then they also say his nose maybe dislocated at the top of the
cartilage but again nothing they can do...if it is he will start waking up with blood in the nose.
Ok well this morning he did so Check that one off too...dislocated nose. OH my POOR guy...fractured cheek, dislocated nose, and a concussion not a good way to spend Valentines Day.
He is doing better than I thought with the pain. He does not understand needs to sit still most of the day and ends up hurting it or just feeling bad later. He is not sleeping good with it and has to be propped up on two pillows to try and sleep. It looks like it hurts to me and makes me sad we can not do anything for him. I wish we could. :(
Pics of all 3 days so far...they told me the
bruising would get worst as it comes to the surface.
Night of...
Sleeping in the car on the way to get daddy 3 hours after.

At the house after
fighting him to change clothes...this has become my new challenge...dressing him with out hitting it or touching it.

close up of the starting of the
bruise.

Next day after the doc. almost 24 hours later. bad swelling
top view..the camera did not capture the bruising under the surface that shows in just the right light
close up poor poor guy

Today...day 3 showing me it hurts to smile now

looking normal that eye is giving him problems with walking and doing stuff because of the limited vision from the swelling

Today after trying to play with the boys we watch the pain is getting to him...the new
bruising coming up to the surface
eating showing me the blood in his nose and trying to open his eye wide

He is tired of me trying to take pics all the time..his face always looks pulled down on that side thanks to the swelling.

Will be a long recovery but hoping for the best and no infections please he needs to be better and someone needs to get him a bubble please!
